About Us

Window WIz is owned and operated by Mt. Pleasant resident David Collins. David is from New Salem, NC and was brought to Charleston through an activation and mobilization in the Air Force Reserves. He served at his home station, Charleston AFB, as an Instrument and Flight Controls Avionics Technician on the C-17 Globemaster III during Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom. He served in New Orleans and the Gulf Coast during the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina supporting airborne evacuation efforts. He also serves in the Charleston Air Force base Honor Guard rendering military honors at funerals, events, ceremonies, and sporting events.

During his tour in Charleston he realized his love for the Lowcountry landscape, history, and culture. He formed Window Wiz in 2005 during his activation to grow his business in time for his deactivation in 2008. David now resides in Mt. Pleasant and operates Window Wiz while still serving his country one weekend per month. He employs the same core values that the Air Force instilled in him into his business.
